Now Admitting Students for MBBS Program in China 2015

There is an acute shortage of Doctors in India. It is a fact that no one wants to acknowledge, especially those in power that the shortage exists’

The acute shortage of medical seats leads to an acute shortage of doctors. The content, quality, and status of medical education have a direct bearing on the quality of health care delivered in India. In contrast to engineering colleges, which have mushroomed everywhere, the number of medical colleges has grown very slowly.

Lets’ look at some facts

Ø  There is only one doctor per 1,700 citizens in India. The World Health Organization (WHO) stipulates a minimum ratio of 1:1,000.

Ø  While the Union Health Ministry figures claim that there are about 6-6.5 lakh doctors available, India would need about four lakh more by 2020

Ø  Total Number of candidates applying for AIPMT 2014: 6,16,982

Ø  Total number of MBBS seats available: 37,000 only

Ø  The Capitation fees for private colleges in  Management quota can run as high as Rupees 1 CRORE

Ø  Along with non availability of seats, cost of education is also a factor to consider. Many students aspiring to become a doctor have a zero chance.

Ø  It is estimated that over 10,000 students leave India each year for medical education abroad. With China the most popular destination followed by Philippines, Central America and Ukraine. The reason is simple. They can get a seat easily and study at a fraction of Indian costs.

Ø  The Medical colleges we work with are MCI (Medical Council of India) and WHO (World Health Organization) approved
